Husband Encouragement

Last week, I was blog surfing and came across a blog where someone mentioned doing
this 30-Day Husband Encouragement Challenge.  I am always looking for ways to keep our marriage fun and lively, so I decided to give it a shot!  My disclaimer in posting this is that I do believe that we mamas work very hard and our jobs are often overlooked as easy or unimportant, etc.  But that is not the point of this challenge -- it's just to encourage our husbands and learn to be more positive in general.   The challenge also has a 1950's Leave It To Beaver feel, but I could overlook that part for the sake of this little experiment.

I am normally not a nag [note from Dan - she's never a nag.  And how many wives would let their husbands get tattoos, and buy a Harley Davidson?], so that part of the challenge was easy, but I don't always gush about how awesome my husband is [note from Dan:  I am really awesome!] to him as often as I should.  I wanted to go all 30 days without telling him that I was doing the challenge.  But I only made it to Day 6.  After I told Dan I was doing it, I asked him if he wanted me to keep doing it.  He said, YES!, he loved it and asked if I could do the 365 day Challenge [Note from Dan: you have to admit, the 365 day challenge is a great idea].

If any of you decide to do this, too, keep me posted on the results!

  1. I love this idea! No matter what, daily life and stuff can sometimes get in the way of remembering to appreciate our guys!
I'm gonna try it and thanks for sharing!

  4. I think that is a really great challenge! I think in analyzing families of the 1950's it's important not to "throw the baby out with the bathwater" so to speak. Glad as I am that roles continue to evolve, it did have some postive aspects to recommend it. I'm going to do it!-just as soon as my hubby gets home from his 10 day trip that is... = )
