My Favorite Photos

We arrived safely in Texas last night. I was able to look through the hundreds of photos that I took while on our vacation. [The photos posted in previous posts were actually from my mom's camera.] These are my favorites. Here is what we loved about our vacation.

Going on Gator rides to check on the cows and their calves

Spending time at cousin Livi's house

Going to the Fire Station, where cousin Kayla is training to become a fire fighter. The kids got a tour of the fire station, were able to sit in the fire trucks, and try on the hats and jackets.

But the highlight had to be when they got to spray the fire hose. Being Kayla is in training, learning the pumper truck actually goes toward her certification.

We loved our visits with Grandma and Grandpa Olson.

It was so awesome to do another trip to Fawn-Doe-Rosa, where we again fed the animals

and, best of all, spent time with our friends from Madison, Heather, Al and Jack.

We were so excited to see Leah and her family and I loved this picture of her with her baby.

We also enjoyed the quieter moments at Gaga's Farm.

Roasting marshmallows

And eating s'mores

Swinging on the horse tire swing

Looking at Gaga's beautiful flowers

Or the night sky

There were many other moments that I did not capture on camera. We enjoyed spending time with my other grandparents, my aunt and her family. We spent two afternoons at my friend, Emily's family farm, where the kids spent hours playing in the barn and even learned how to milk a goat. I was disappointed that I didn't have pictures to document our time spent together. But sometimes it's more difficult to enjoy and engage in the moment when always behind the lens of a camera. Instead we will try to etch those moments in our hearts.

  3. Welcome home; glad it was safe travels! :) Well, all of the things you mentioned echo loudly in my heart whenever we spend time "back home." And while it IS glorioust to have those moments captured on film, I couldn't agree more that sometimes its best to simply file it away in your heart and memory.....makes it a whole lots easier to crop, edit and use THE most flattering light too....*grin*

Beautiful pics/beautiful family....I'm sure there is a part of you missing Wisc. already, even while another part rejoices in being home!

    Hugs
