Little Dresses for Africa Pillowcase Dress Party

Yesterday was our long awaited pillowcase dress party for Little Dresses for Africa. There were five of us sewing and six dresses were made. Each dress took several hours to make, since we added pockets and ribbon to make them a little fancier.

Here are all of the dresses that have been made over the last couple of months.

It was a wonderful time of fun and fellowship. Sitting in a circle of women, sewing, sharing tips, and admiring one another's work made me realize how much we are missing by not gathering in this way more often. It was a joy to make these dresses for the little girls.

  2. One of the reasons I don't sew more is because it is such a solitary activity. It was lovely to be crafty and socialize simultaneously. Evidently sewing circles are on to something!

Kinda makes you wish for pioneer days and weekly sewing/quilting circles, doesn't it?

Argh! My computer has been down for days; I missed all the news! Couldn't wait to peek at your blog and as always its a treat!

The dresses are simply beautiful and imagining the delight they will bring to so many little girls is so humbling.

I'm so proud of your whole group and these efforts!!
    Hugs!!
