Happy New Year!

The new year is here and a lot has happened since my last post.

I'll try to let the pictures do most of the explaining! :)

On December 26th, Dan and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary. He is truly the perfect match in the world for me. I feel so blessed to be his wife. I mean, how many men would stay up late on Christmas Eve doing this?

On Christmas day, Dan's brother, his wife and their three kids came into town and stayed with us until the 29th. It was such a blessing to have them here in general, but especially wonderful on the 28th when we heard the news of our court date for our adoption being postponed. Their presence kept things incredibly upbeat. We so enjoyed their company and it was fabulous to watch the kids play together.

While Lisa and I took the kids to a museum one afternoon, Dan and Josh got some bonding time over power tools by putting in a drop ceiling in the garage for extra storage.

One of the most special times for me was baking cookies with the girls.

This inspired the making of aprons. All the girls picked out their own fabrics. It was so much fun to bond over textiles. I finished one apron (not pictured) while they were still here and finished the other two just after they left. I got them in the mail yesterday.

[The pattern can be found here. I altered it a bit in making the above aprons.]

I also finished my first project of the new year, this pin cushion caddy.

So that's the update here. Our court date is 6 days away, people! Let's hope we pass this time.

Happy New Year!

Baking cookies with my Mom & Lauren is always a highlight for me too ~ My Mom has made us girls aprons too, so I KNOW a lot of love went into those gorgeous aprons you sewed! Everytime they wear it, they will think back to a special afternoon at your house!

Prayers coming along for the new court date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Happy happy anniversary!!! :)
