When I saw Evie's excitement over Indigo's Petal Knot Dress and her enthusiasm for one to call her own, I got right to it. I've been spending most of my free time working on something else (which I'll get to in another post) and I haven't spent as much time sewing lately. Oh how I've missed it. And you know how I said I don't always like to sew a second dress in the same pattern as the first? Well, the flip side of that is you know exactly what you are doing, which makes for easy, stress-free, relaxing sewing. It was just what I needed. This dress sewed up in only a few hours. I really enjoyed making it.
I love these fabrics and colors on Evie. The fabrics for both of the girls' dresses are by Anna Maria Horner. I went to the fabric store to look for some fabric and when I asked where Anna Maria's fabrics were, I was told that they were in the sale room, all 50% off. That pretty much made my day. (It's the small things!) So I picked up the fabrics for the girls' dresses + 2 yards to make cloth napkins. I hope to get to those soon. Here's the pattern I used. The pattern designer is not so explicit in her instructions about finishing the seams. She writes a little blip about it in the back, but if you miss that, you may not know. Just an FYI.
PRECIOUS!!! What fabric store carries that line of fabric? Lovely prints!
ReplyDeleteShannon,
ReplyDeleteIn general AMH sells only at independent fabric/quilting shops. The one borderline exception is that she does sell some of her fabrics on fabric.com at a discounted price.

ReplyDeleteThis is one of the cutest dresses I have ever seen! I can't wait for Callie to get out of her harness so she can wear cute little dresses. Also, you should sell these...I would definitely buy some. :)
