In the past, we were never too crazy about smoothies. The healthier I tried to make them (by adding greens or flax or fish oil) the less likely my kids were to drink them. Frankly, I don't blame them. I don't care for the traditional berry/yogurt kind, either. But, there's one kind of smoothie that we all love. Probably because it tastes more like a milkshake and it satisfies my daily chocolate craving. Unlike smoothies that are mostly carbs, the peanut butter in this smoothie provides protein that will stick with you, making it a great snack or dare I say, breakfast.
Here's what you'll need:
2 cups milk or almond milk
3 Tbsps unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup peanut butter
Honey to taste
2 bananas - It's especially awesome if the bananas are frozen. Bananas freeze well. Just peel them and put them in a ziploc bag
Combine in a blender or food processor.
Serves 3.
Cheers!
oh....we might have to try that. It sounds DE-LISH! Thanks for sharing!!!!!
