:: I went from being comfortably pregnant to heavy laden, seemingly overnight.
My back is none too pleased with the change in events.
Everybody keeps asking me when I'm due. When I say October they are visibly taken aback. I'm pretty sure they thought I was going to say next week. Or tomorrow.
:: Indigo wanted to experiment with using the camera.
Apparently she needs a few more lessons on how to use the zoom function. Though these pictures are kind of artsy, right? The beauty of seeing the world through the eyes of a 4 year old.
:: Indigo and I continue our task of starting over for baby and trying to buy most everything secondhand. So far, so good. Thrifting is going well. Last weekend we focused on the 3-6 month size. We bought 15 things, some with new tags still on, for around $55.
When Indigo saw the middle sleeper with the bib attached, she exclaimed, "Mom, this is a great shirt! Do you want to know why it is a great shirt? Because it has a bib stuck to it!" Dan asked her if we could change her name to Pollyanna. She emphatically refused, stating she likes being Indigo.
:: Jude and Dan are working together on refurbishing a table - a garage sale find from several years ago.
It's pretty serious business.
:: I made several jars of low-sugar strawberry rhubarb jam.
Can I admit that there was no sentimentality about the process this time around? Other than that I do love hearing those lids pop. I scorched two, yes two (!), pans on the long simmer needed for the low sugar recipe. Thankfully I was able to get them clean, though it wasn't easy. I also burned myself getting the jars in and out of the boiling water. (Did I mention I don't have a jar lifter?) When I asked Dan to step in and help, he burned himself too.
I think next time I'm going to try making freezer jam instead. Don't these recipes look amazing?
